First of all, I would like to thank you for checking out our website and allowing me this opportunity to give a succinct introduction to our secondary school.
At the Jakarta Multicultural School, our attitude towards education can best be described as a genuine desire for continuous and never-ending improvement. We are very aware of the fact that the educational industry is constantly evolving, and that we can never become complacent or smug about past successes.
At secondary school, this commitment towards improvement has led us to successfully apply for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, which is being offered to our senior students for the first time in school year 2016-2017. In the lower secondary years, where we offer the Cambridge International Examinations programme, we have also made recent upgrades. For example, our curriculum is now structured in a way that allows all students to qualify for the ICE Diploma at the IGCSE level. This overarching diploma challenges our students to get the most out of their academic pursuits in years 9 and 10. Finally, we have recently entered a partnership with the London College of Music, part of the University of West London, which allows our students to follow courses and obtain international certifications in a variety of music courses.
Equally important as the academic options provided is the environment in which our students experience their time at JMS. At secondary school, we pride ourselves in making every effort to provide an engaging and dynamic atmosphere, where students are not only challenged academically but are also allowed to feel welcome and to grow as a human being. We want to guide our student towards becoming balanced, compassionate, internationally minded and confident adults. We can only achieve this by fully engaging all our stakeholders, including our students, their parents and the community at large. My thanks go out to all of them, because it is only by continuing to learn together that we can truly live up to our mandate and give our young generation the education they deserve.
